### Summary
You will serve as the Deputy Systems Engineering and Integration Lead of a large, multi-Center team for a major human-rated spacecraft, the Power and Propulsion Element.
The position is located in the Science and Space Technology Systems Branch, in the Systems and Architecture Division, within the Research & Engineering Directorate at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.

### Responsibilities
*Leads and directs a team of civil servant and contractor senior systems engineers who have specific areas of responsibility including requirements, assembly, integration, and test, and verification and validation
* Leads and collaborates with the other spacecraft subsystem engineering leads (senior discipline engineers and journeymen)
* Co-plans, manages, and directs the execution of the technical effort for the successful development and delivery of the PPE spaceflight demonstration mission
* Develops SE&I; content for the Statement of Work, evaluate proposals, provide technical direction for >$500M spacecraft contract
* Provides technical direction, insight and oversight and surveillance of systems engineering performed to deliver >$500M spacecraft by prime contractor
* Develops budget, schedule, and risk for project systems engineering and integration functions and products
* Leads the government internal systems integration role for the Power and Propulsion Element.
* Co-Leads development of the concept of operations, architecture, requirements, integration, and verification and validation approach / effort for the spacecraft.
* Assumes full authority for decisions in the absence of the SE&I; Lead

### Qualifications
Applicant must have one year time-in-grade at the next lower grade level.
Applicant must also have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
Specialized experience, equivalent to GS-13 grade level, for this position is defined as:
*Demonstrated experience interacting with a range of stakeholders to present and discuss technical information in a clear concise manner; and
*Demonstrated experience developing the concept of operations, architecture, requirements, integration, and verification and validation for space flight systems; and
*Demonstrated experience managing interface relationships with between large projects; and
*Demonstrated ability in working with prime contractors responsible for development and integration of flight systems; and
*Demonstrated ability to coordinate the work of a group of engineers and researchers engaged in the systems engineering and integration development of space flight systems. Examples include performing team lead responsibilities including defining work, coaching, mentoring and motivating team members to accomplish goals; and
*Demonstrated experience with leading at least one area of systems engineering and integration activities for complex aerospace projects. Examples may include requirements development, verification, or validation processes.
### Education
Basic Education Requirement: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major study in engineering, physical science, mathematics, life sciences, computer science, or other field of science. Degrees in engineering technology are not considered to be qualifying for this position.
